“Event notification systems (ENS) and care coordination applications have historically struggled to provide actionable information to providers at the point-of-care,” says Noah Knauf, partner at Kleiner Perkins. “Collective Medical is the first technology we’ve seen that allows the providers and payers in a local healthcare system to efficiently collaborate, delivering significantly better outcomes through risk analytics, real-time notifications, and shared care planning tools. Supporting this team is a rare opportunity to be a part of something that is meaningfully changing the way care is delivered in this country.”
Our objective is to connect healthcare at scale. Virginia is a perfect example. You have 130-some hospitals and health systems, hundreds of post-acute operators, and thousands of ambulatory providers across the state, along with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial health plans. The state’s objective was not only to reach a level of interoperability in terms of data sharing, but even more so, to reach a level of collaboration to manage down medically unnecessary utilization, avoidable friction, or risk.

To help them draft the ordinances, the city has set aside a budget to hire a consulting firm to “sit with professional city staff, our professional city planners and determine how many dispensaries are needed by this community, where should they go, who should the operators be, [and] how we select the operators,” said Olivier during the 12/14 City Council meeting.

We realized that while bootstrapping a company gives you tremendous autonomy to do the right thing, it’s a rate limiter to growth. Building a network effects-enabled platform hasn’t been previously done at scale in healthcare. We raised capital to accelerate our growth across the country, to deepen our technical capability with significant R&D dollars, and to gain partners who can help us think through these things since this is our first rodeo.
Collective Medical improves outcomes and lowers costs on an impressive scale. In a Brookings Institution review of Medicaid patients who visited emergency rooms in Washington State, Collective Medical’s network and EDIE application—allowing actionable, real-time coordination across organizations—was one of the core strategies for lowering the number of ED visits by patients with patterns of high ED utilization. By partnering with Collective Medical to focus on these patients, Washington State reported $34 million in savings in emergency costs and a decline of 9.9 percent in emergency department visits in its first year of use in 2013.
“That was a major effort, but some of us had been data scientists before we were physicians, and so we parameterized all these calls. The first pneumonia care path was completed in about nine weeks. We’ve turned around and did a second care path, for sepsis, which is much harder, and we’ve done that in two weeks. We’ve finished sepsis and have moved on to total hip and total knee replacements. We have about 18 or 19 care paths that we’re going to be doing over the next 18 months,” he says.

Looking back, Klomp sees a huge element of luck in their success story. “We work hard and try to be smart, but entrepreneurs chronically underestimate how much they get lucky or kind breaks from others,” he says. “I look back at the people willing to take a chance on a couple of unsophisticated kids from BYU who didn’t know a lot about healthcare but were trying to solve one of our mom’s problems. They gave us a chance and indulged us when we made mistakes. You look at Washington and it was just a stroke of luck.”
Closest dispensary to my house I'm pretty sure. I think there might be one or two a tiny bit closer, but it's just such a habit for me to go here lol so I just keep coming back. I've never had a bad experience - one time this girl was getting kinda short with me and I felt a teensy bit insulted but in the end she was just trying to get me the best deal on bud as possible :) and she warmed up when I was like ohhhhh ok I get it sorry I'm just so bad at math. She had to write it down lol so embarrassing  so at the end I was genuinely so happy and thankful for her. If you're reading this now thank you so much for helping my stupid ass !! I've had good experiences with every budtender here and even the security guard.
The company has an intriguing startup story. Fifteen years ago, one of the founders’ mother, Patti Green, was an emergency department social worker in Boise, Idaho, and suspected that some patients were opioid seekers. She set up a rudimentary collaborative care plan for providers to use to identify and help these patients. “It is easy for us now to talk about the opioid epidemic. Nobody was really talking about it 15 years ago, but she was seeing it on the ground,” says Chris Klomp, Collective’s CEO, “and she did something about it.”

Grab your marijuana and your mat to enjoy the mind-body benefits of weed-enhanced yoga. “I call it contemplative cannabis,” says Stacey Mulvey, owner of Marijuasana, a sort of traveling yoga studio that offers classes in states where the laws allow, including Massachusetts. Practicing yoga under the influence can help advance students’ abilities, Mulvey says. She believes the drug can alter the connection between mind and body just enough to break damaging or limiting patterns of movement.

CEO Jonathan Baran identifies two forces that have jump-started the company. Number one is that all sorts of routine tasks are piling up on physicians and staff, leading to high levels of burnout and negative consequences. “Health systems have really seen this problem and understand there has to be a better way to do this,” he says. Number two is a change in approach by the EHR vendors themselves. “When we started, it was a foreign concept to have an app store for the EHRs. None of them had one yet. But now we have seen widespread adoption of this model across all the major EHRs,” he says. “They now think about themselves as platforms and open marketplaces where people like us can build technology on top of APIs that allow us to integrate our technology into the workflow. That is a big piece. Without those two major forces—market awareness and enabling innovation by building on top of EHRs—this wouldn't be possible.”
Situations like these make Baumgartner stand out in a state packed with anonymous delivery services. Whatever condition or ailment you suffer from, Carla Baumgartner and her team of doctors and professionals will find a product to give you relief, thus improving the quality of your life. So many dispensaries in California only focus on the percent of THC in their products, rather than the quality and characteristics of the high certain strains and products give. At Ganja Runner, they carry strains developed to help people in need, like 2:1 CBD:THC flower. Recently, Hmbldt metered dose pens have become very popular due to their simplicity. “I love them [Hmbldt pens] because it’s easy to pick the right medicine. If you’re anxious, use the Calm pen… If you’re in pain, use Relief. The simplicity is what Ganja Runner is all about.”
We offer "70% ready to go" professional cannabis business plan templates, including pro forma financials with projections to answer the fundamental, and critical questions of how much money it will take to start your cannabis business and how much your 100% legally compliant cannabis business will make. We also have a range of cannabis pitch deck templates.
“We’ve been able to do a lot of querying ourselves, and we have some sepsis predictive models that we’ve created and put into place. We do a lot of real-time monitoring for sepsis and central line-associated bloodstream infections,” he says. “Central line-associated bloodstream infections are a bane for all hospitals. In the past year and a half, since we’ve put in our predictive model, we’ve had zero bloodstream infections, and that’s just unheard of.”

There is, however, something you can do now that will protect your joints and cartilage and end any pain you may currently be experiencing. Using liquid glucosamine and chondroitin your pain can be brought to a halt very quickly. With the recently released clinical studies indicating the power of these ingredients, the market is literally flooded with competing products. So how do you select the product that is right glucosamine for you?

“Proposition 64 would allow the state to impose a 15% excise tax on the retail sale of marijuana. Also, the state would be able to levy a cultivation tax on growers of $9.25 per ounce for flowers and $2.75 per ounce for leaves. The ballot measure also would let cities and counties to impose their own taxes to cover costs of services, including enforcement.” (Patrick McGreevy, Los Angeles Times)
