“Proposition 64 would allow the state to impose a 15% excise tax on the retail sale of marijuana. Also, the state would be able to levy a cultivation tax on growers of $9.25 per ounce for flowers and $2.75 per ounce for leaves. The ballot measure also would let cities and counties to impose their own taxes to cover costs of services, including enforcement.” (Patrick McGreevy, Los Angeles Times)
Cannabis delivery has never been easier thanks to Vireo Health’s New York medical marijuana delivery service. We understand that individuals prescribed medical marijuana can’t always make it to a dispensary. At the same time, cannabis-based capsules, oral solutions, vaporization cartridges, and vaporization oils can be a vital part of treating chronic pain, cancer, AIDS, epilepsy, and other serious conditions. Going without that vital medication for even a day can be painful and difficult.
Thank you for visiting Pot Valet. We are the most reliable online marijuana retail store in California. To recreational users of marijuana, we deliver high-quality, laboratory tested products. Our team is in partnership with the best marijuana dispensaries in the state, and our goal is to ensure that pot delivery to all parts of California is safe, fast, and always available.
Cannabis reputedly helps unlock the creative parts of your brain. Put that theory to the test with a pot-friendly night of art at Puff, Pass and Paint. The $39 cost includes all art supplies and instruction. Attendees must bring their own cannabis, but smoking, edibles, and vaping are all encouraged as part of the creative process and the social experience. The Colorado-based company offers classes in six states and the District of Columbia. In Boston, they’re available one weekend per month, and the company hopes to launch a weekly schedule soon. During the two-hour class, the instructor provides an example of painting and teaches participants how to re-create the artwork. Attendees are urged to follow their THC-heightened inspiration wherever it leads, says national director Tyler Joyner.
Of course, inevitably, there was talk around the talk of the hype cycle involving artificial intelligence. One of those engaging in that discussion was Paul Chang, M.D.., a practicing radiologist and medical director of enterprise imaging at the University of Chicago. Dr. Chang gave a presentation on Tuesday about AI. According a report by Michael Walter in Radiology Business, Dr. Chang said, “AI is not new or spooky. It’s been around for decades. So why the hype?” He described computer-aided detection (CAD) as a form of artificial intelligence, one that radiologists have been making use of for years.

Collective Medical is engaged with every national health plan in the country, hundreds of hospitals and health systems, and tens of thousands of providers and care managers including those in emergency departments, primary care practices, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, emergency medical services, and mental and behavioral health organizations. Collective Medical’s network has visibility across 13 states, with an additional 10 states expected to go live in 2018.

Applicants must comply with the insurance requirements in Title 5 of the Hesperia Municipal Code Chapter 5.50.100(F). The required insurance policy must be purchased and valid prior to the final approval of the Tenant Improvement Permit and issuance of Certificate of Occupancy. Failure to provide valid insurance at the limits specified will result in delay of permit final and Certificate of Occupancy issuance.

As of January 1st, medical and recreational (adult use) marijuana became legal in the state of California. Per the Prop 64 measure, adults over the age of 21 can now consume, purchase, possess, and grow cannabis without the fear of prosecution so long as they are within the regulation of the new law… and in accordance with any other policies put in place by the city in which they reside.
“Event notification systems and care coordination applications have historically struggled to provide actionable information to providers at the point-of-care,” Noah Knauf, partner at Kleiner Perkins, said in a statement. “Collective Medical is the first technology we’ve seen that allows the providers and payers in a local healthcare system to efficiently collaborate, delivering significantly better outcomes through risk analytics, real-time notifications, and shared care planning tools. Supporting this team is a rare opportunity to be a part of something that is meaningfully changing the way care is delivered in this country.”

Utah-based Collective Medical, which has been bootstrapped for eight years, has quietly developed the nation’s largest network for real-time care collaboration. Collective Medical’s technology addresses the full continuum of care in support of many of the country’s most vulnerable individuals—patients with complex needs that are not met at any single point of care. By unifying providers and payers through real-time information alerts, patient context, and collaborative care planning, Collective Medical empowers care teams to identify patients with complex needs and help them get the care they need, when they need it, from those best positioned to deliver it. Collective Medical’s approach has been proven to reduce avoidable emergency department (ED) visits and hospital readmissions, ease transitions of care, and eliminate unnecessary risk and friction from care delivery.

There continues to be growing interest, and also some hype, around AI tools, but Sanders notes that AI and machine learning are simply another tool. “Historically, what we’ve done is that we had an idea of what we wanted to do, conducted a clinical trial and then proved or disproved the hypothesis, based on the data that we collected. We have a tool with AI which can basically show us relationships that we didn’t know even existed and answer questions that we didn’t know to ask. I think it’s going to open up a tremendous pathway in medicine for us to both reduce cost, improve care and really take better care of our patients,” he says, adding, “When you can say that to physicians, they are on board. They respond to the data.”

Her personal involvement doesn’t stop there. She often hand delivers the medicine and even works with a hospice center providing relief. “I worked with a woman, my age, who was dying of cancer. Her brother would call me and I would come over with a big bag of prerolled joints. We would smoke together, holding hands, me on the floor, and her laying on the couch.”

Scanning the exhibit floor on Monday, Glenn Galloway, CIO of the Center for Diagnostic Imaging, an ambulatory imaging center in the Minneapolis suburb of St. Louis Park, Minn., noted that “There’s a lot of focus on AI this year. We’re still trying to figure out exactly what it is; I think a lot of people are doing the same, with AI.” In terms of whether what’s being pitched is authentic solutions, vaporware, or something in between, Galloway said, “I think it’s all that. I think there will be some solutions that live and survive. There are some interesting concepts of how to deliver it. We’ve been talking to a few folks. But the successful solutions are going to be very focused; not just AI for a lung, but for a lung and some very specific diagnoses, for example.” And what will be most useful? According to Galloway, “Two things: AI for the workflow and the quality. And there’ll be some interesting things for what it will do for the quality and the workflow.”
As a young adult, I was in a very serious car accident. I broke a lot of bones — my second vertebrae, my neck, ribs, a compound fracture in my leg... It’s a miracle I’m not a quadriplegic. I was on a respirator and couldn’t breathe because there was fluid between my lung and ribcage. I couldn’t move because I had this thing holding up my head. A nurse around every few hours to help me cough so I wouldn’t get pneumonia. Eventually after getting off the respirator, one nurse came around and he mentioned cannabis. He said, “Did you know cannabis does the same type of thing to your lungs? It’s a bronchial dilator. The drug I’m pumping into your lungs is a bronchial dilator.” From that point on I realized I had a choice. I never took another pain pill. I just used cannabis for the next eleven months to recover. I always loved cannabis, but now I had an even more personal connection to the plant.

Besides EDIE, Collective now has other software it licenses to payers and accountable care organizations, but it does not charge post-acute operators, ambulatory providers and others who don't have risk. “Our model is that we license our software to those who could see economic benefit through improving coordination of their members, which makes sense,” he says. “Others may not benefit economically, so we don’t charge them.”
Artificial intelligence solutions—and certainly, the promotion of such solutions—were everywhere this year at the RSNA Conference, held this week at Chicago’s vast McCormick Place, where nearly 49,000 attendees attended clinical education sessions, viewed nearly 700 vendor exhibits. And AI and machine learning promotions, and discussions were everywhere.

While the city Excise department has targeted the areas such as Dhoolpet, Mehedipatnam, Nanakramguda, etc., which are prone to ganja peddling, peddlers have found their ways to deliver the drug to specific location with the help of a phone call. Akhil (20) (name changed), a student from a reputed engineering college in the city, was addicted to the drug and is currently undergoing a de-addiction therapy.
Add a dose of relaxation to your weekend escape by choosing an inn that embraces cannabis consumption. For an immersive adventure, head to Maine Greenyards in Auburn, which offers comfortable suites, an indoor pool and hot tub, and breakfast featuring its own farm-fresh eggs. Guests can bring marijuana, and they’re encouraged to tour the innkeepers’ cannabis gardens and learn about the diverse strains under cultivation.
He can thank Patti Green, a former emergency department social worker at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Boise. In 2000, she started tracking frequent ER visits on a Word document, which allowed her to address underlying causes—the reason behind an opioid addiction, or unawareness a patient qualified for Medicaid. Although rivals, she shared information with nearby Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center on patients who bounced between the two ERs. Doctors loved it.
Collective seeks to close provider communication gaps that undermine patient care. It uses data feeds, risk analytics, notifications, and shared care guidelines to reduce emergency department (ED) utilization, inpatient readmissions and downstream care transitions, including to post-acute operators. After collecting data from all EDs visited by a patient, its solution packages that data into actionable insights, and delivers them to clinicians via real-time notifications. Collective is currently partnered with more than a dozen state hospital associations, and recently added the Florida Hospital Association to its network of partners.
