They found Collective Medical Technologies, a little company from Salt Lake City, Utah, belonging to Adam Green and Wylie van den Akker, childhood friends from Boise, Idaho. Between school and daytime jobs, they had managed to sell their software to 35% of hospitals in Washington. Emergency doctors raved about it and pushed for its adoption. The governor gave the go-ahead, but all 98 hospitals in the state had to comply. To be effective, they had to share patient information. “The value of the network is in participants,” says Chris Klomp, CEO of Collective Medical, and a childhood friend of the founders.

“We’re putting collaboration at the heart of the solution to a fragmented healthcare system,” Chris Klomp, CEO of Collective Medical, said in a statement. “Our job is to connect care teams. By arming providers and payers with real-time insights and a platform to seamlessly collaborate across organizations and care settings, we ensure patients don’t slip through the cracks. … We are beyond excited and grateful to be joined by such an extraordinary group of investors who share our vision for further enriching and expanding our network to help care teams provide the most effective care possible.”
The fast-growing pot industry not only raked in $2.7 billion in sales this last year, it’s also produced quite a few ganja-based startups. It’s legal to light up a bowl for recreation or medical reasons in 23 of these 50 United States now and soon as there’s a growing industry, there are technological innovations to support it. We’ve counted at least 8 on-demand delivery apps out there that will bring medicinal grade weed varietals right to your door.
Hyderabad: Following the extra vigil by Excise and police sleuths, ganja peddlers in city are delivering ganja to a specific location by charging few extra hundreds. Most of the customers who opt for such services are found to be teenagers with a large peer groups amongst which contacts of these peddlers circulate. Psychiatrists believe that providing excessive cash to young kids may give them an opportunity to opt for such services too.
Sanders says having the data generated by the AI software is critical to getting physicians on board with the project. “When we deployed the tool for the pneumonia care pathway, our physicians were saying, ‘Oh no, not another tool’,” Sanders says. “I brought in a PIT Crew (physician IT crew) and we went through our data with them. I had physicians in the group going through the analysis and they saw that the data was real. We went into the EMR to make sure the data was in fact valid, and after they realized that, then they began to look at the outcomes, the length of stay, the drop in readmissions and how the costs dropped, and they were on board right away.”
Unfortunately, that's not the only message this raid sent. Thanks to decades of demonization, much of it fueled by alcohol and tobacco interests, marijuana still carries a stigma. Police actions like this only reinforce that stigma. That people who get their medicine from dispensaries instead of pharmacists are druggies, and the employees of such establishments can still get their mugs displayed like drug dealers.
