Add a dose of relaxation to your weekend escape by choosing an inn that embraces cannabis consumption. For an immersive adventure, head to Maine Greenyards in Auburn, which offers comfortable suites, an indoor pool and hot tub, and breakfast featuring its own farm-fresh eggs. Guests can bring marijuana, and they’re encouraged to tour the innkeepers’ cannabis gardens and learn about the diverse strains under cultivation.
Beyond just offering a good meal, these events create community, says chef and co-owner Joseph Nelson. Diners share a family-style meal at one long table and inevitably find themselves making connections, he says. “It’s a bunch of people who have never met each other before, sitting down for a couple of hours,” Nelson says. “By the end of dinner, you’d think they’d known each other for years.”

So much remains ambiguous about the regulated future of legalized pot in California, even more so in the Central Valley. As some cities are still waiting to make their final decision, others have banned it outright, and Fresno is soon to embark on the unique challenge of writing new policies for medical marijuana businesses, from growing all the way to sales – but one thing is clear, and that it is going to make for a busy yet very interesting 2018.
“We had a guillotine over our head,” says Stephen Anderson, an emergency medicine doctor at MultiCare Auburn Medical Center, which operates eight hospitals in and around Tacoma and Spokane, Washington. Hospitals pleaded for their own solution. “[We said] instead of blocking access, let us coordinate care of high utilizers.” The governor gave them three months.

Diners share a family-style meal at one long table and inevitably find themselves making connections, he says. “It’s a bunch of people who have never met each other before, sitting down for a couple of hours,” Nelson says. “By the end of dinner, you’d think they’d known each other for years.”
Her personal involvement doesn’t stop there. She often hand delivers the medicine and even works with a hospice center providing relief. “I worked with a woman, my age, who was dying of cancer. Her brother would call me and I would come over with a big bag of prerolled joints. We would smoke together, holding hands, me on the floor, and her laying on the couch.”

So, which artificial intelligence-based solutions will end up going the distance? On a certain level, the answer to that question is simple, said Joe Marion, a principal in the Waukesha, Wis.-based Healthcare Integration Strategies LLC, and one of the imaging informatics industry’s most respected observers. “I think it’s going to be the value of the product,” said Marion, who has participated in 42 RSNA conferences; “and also the extent to which the vendors will make their products flexible in terms of being interfaced with others, so there’s this integration aspect, folding into vendor A, vendor B, vendor C, etc. So for a third party, the more they reach out and create relationships, the more successful they’ll be. A lot of it will come down to clinical value, though. Watson has had problems in that people have said, it’s great, but where’s the clinical value? So the ones that succeed will be the ones that find the most clinical value.”

Collective Medical will use the funding to expand and advance its network with the goal of empowering care teams across the country to provide patients with the most effective care. As a part of this effort, Collective Medical plans to expand its leadership team and scale its engineering, clinical support, sales and marketing organizations. The company anticipates hiring more than 100 additional team members in the next 12 – 18 months, with the majority based in its Salt Lake City headquarters.
Hyderabad: Following the extra vigil by Excise and police sleuths, ganja peddlers in city are delivering ganja to a specific location by charging few extra hundreds. Most of the customers who opt for such services are found to be teenagers with a large peer groups amongst which contacts of these peddlers circulate. Psychiatrists believe that providing excessive cash to young kids may give them an opportunity to opt for such services too.

The hospital quickly implemented the new pneumonia pathway by changing the order set in its Allscripts EHR system. As a result, for the pneumonia care path, Flagler Hospital saved $1,350 per patient and reduced the length of stay (LOS) for these patients by two days, on average. What’s more, the hospital reduced readmission by 7 times—the readmission rate dropped from 2.9 percent to 0.4 percent, hospital officials report. The initial work saved nearly $850,000 in unnecessary costs—the costs were trimmed by eliminating labs, X-rays and other processes that did not add value or resulted in a reduction in the lengths of stay or readmissions.

The idea started with Miss Bliss, a very successful edible line in the Bay Area. She just had a baby and was going through some depression. Her edible line was doing really well, but she felt a disconnect from the cannabis community and what she was going through as a mother. A lot of women hold stigma and shame around cannabis use, so she wanted to build a community around that. Miss Bliss connected with an administrator at Oaksterdam. They reached out and asked me to not only attend a Ganja Goddess retreat, but also speak on a panel. I arrived to the most beautiful property. It’s like summer camp — a girls’ summer camp with weed! Women from all over the world have started to see this. We’re calling this medicine but we’re still afraid to pull out a vape pen in front of our kids instead of a cocktail. Let’s change that.
CBD is a compound found in cannabis plants. When ingested, it often provides many of the positive side effects commonly caused by marijuana (pain relief, relaxed mood, etc.). However, because it is non-psychoactive, it won’t produce the mind-altering “high” traditionally associated with the drug. And because CBD oil and other products can be derived from hemp plants, which contain less than .3 percent of the psychoactive cannabinoid THC, they avoids many of the legal pitfalls that plague pot-based products. That’s where Eaze Wellness comes in.

            Remember me

They have a good collection of stuff. I've been to really sleek and hip dispensaries and those are easy on the eyes, but I don't find the bud to be any different in quality thank from here. Plus, this dispensary is nowhere near dirty or anything. It's just that compared to the super sleek hipster ones, this one looks kinda basic. But I don't mind or care. I saw on leafly or something that people said the bud here is moldy - that's never happened to me ever. Ever ever. One time though I did find a G of bubble yum recently that was legit like almost an entire year old. I opened it up and it def was not as dank as it once was, but it was literally somehow chillin lost in a bottom cabinet. For nearly an entire year. Breaking down the weed I noticed a white kind of fuzzy substance - not a whole whole lot but still somewhat noticeable. I was kinda like fuck it and smoked it anyways and it definitely took me longer to get where I wanted to be but I didn't feel any chest pain or tons of coughing - basically was just old weed. So maybe it was mold but I have pretty sensitive allergies and shit and if it was I feel like I would have felt died lol.
“Every hospital has been struggling with this for decades, managing clinical variation,” he says, noting that traditional methods of addressing clinical variation management have been inefficient, as developing care pathways, which involves identifying best practices for high-cost procedures, often takes up to six months or even years to develop and implement. “By the time you finish, it’s out of date,” Sanders says. “There wasn’t a good way of doing this, other than picking your spots periodically, doing analysis and trying to make sense of the data.”
Collective Medical currently has relationships with each US national health plan and hundreds of hospitals and health systems, according to a statement. There are 13 states currently on Collective's network, with plans to add another 10 states scheduled for 2018. In August, the company was featured for the first time on Inc. Magazine’s Inc 5,000 list of fastest growing companies in America, with $5.8 million in 2016 revenue and 561 percent growth over the last three years.
“Certainly, this is another year where machine learning is absolutely dominating the conversation,” said James Whitfill, M.D., CMO at Innovation Care Partners in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Monday. “In radiology, we continue to be aware of how the hype of machine learning is giving way to the reality; that it’s not a wholesale replacement of physicians. There have already been tremendous advances in, for example, interpreting chest x-rays; some of the work that Stanford’s done. They’ve got algorithms that can diagnose 15 different pathological findings. So there is true material advancement taking place.”

One of the ex-ganja peddlers from Fateh Nagar said, `the area is under complete surveillance and many have left such illegal businesses in the locality. However, few of the peddlers continue to sell ganja as they own a vehicle which helps them deliver the drug at a different and preferably safe spot in the city. ``The buyers have the contact details and everything is planned over a phone call”, he said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Whitfill said, “At the same time, people are realizing that coming up with the algorithm is one piece, but that there are surprising complications. So you develop an algorithm on Siemens equipment, but when you to Fuji, the algorithm fails—it no longer reliably identifies pathology, because it turns out you have to train the algorithm not just on examples form just one manufacturer, but form lots of manufacturers. We continue to find that these algorithms are not as consistent as identifying yourself on Facebook, for example. It’s turning out that radiology is way more complex. We take images on lots of different machines. So huge strides are being made,” he said. “But it’s very clear that human and machine learning together will create the breakthroughs. We talk about physician burnout, and even physicians leaving. I think that machine learning offers a good chance of removing a lot of the drudgery in healthcare. If we can automate some processes, then it will free up our time for quality judgment, and also to spend time talking to patients, not just staring at the screen.”

Cannabis reputedly helps unlock the creative parts of your brain. Put that theory to the test with a pot-friendly night of art at Puff, Pass and Paint. The $39 cost includes all art supplies and instruction. Attendees must bring their own cannabis, but smoking, edibles, and vaping are all encouraged as part of the creative process and the social experience. The Colorado-based company offers classes in six states and the District of Columbia. In Boston, they’re available one weekend per month, and the company hopes to launch a weekly schedule soon. During the two-hour class, the instructor provides an example of painting and teaches participants how to re-create the artwork. Attendees are urged to follow their THC-heightened inspiration wherever it leads, says national director Tyler Joyner.
Workshops are generally a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on demonstrations, so students should be prepared to get their hands dirty — literally. Mixing soil is a key element of the Methods of Cultivation class. Smoking is prohibited in the classroom, though vape pens are allowed. Still, the focus is on instruction rather than consumption, the owners say.
Google, Facebook and Twitter all have advertising policies that restrict the promotion of the sale of cannabis. Google’s policy prohibits ads that promote “substances that alter mental state for the purpose of recreation.” Facebook restricts any “illegal, prescription, or recreational drugs.” And Twitter bans “illegal drugs” as well as substances that cause “legal highs.” Instagram and Facebook have decided to go a step further by removing pages of cannabis related businesses.
